Dear N.W.
You will be pleased to hear that there are still a family of rabbits in her garden, they are living beneath the roots of an old tree which has grown so as to bend the garden gate. The wysteria keeps the bees company and of course I am sitting on your bench as I write this. You may not think it your bench, for you were never here yourself, but I assure you there are memories trapped in the woodgrain. I could not find the mouse palace, but there was of course the doll’s house and the tiny puddings. You would have loved this house dear N. I can’t really be sure but I think that is why she chose it. I imagine she buried the ring in the garden here, in a secret spot. I hope you have found her now, because the fire burns so merrily in the grate.
With fondness,
S.

This is so sweet. I want to visit England so badly. <3
It’s wonderful, I can’t wait to go back. <3
What beautiful photographs, and what a lovely letter you wrote to N. I believe, too, that they have found each other. What wonderful adventures you had — thank you for sharing them. Your writing has such heart and elegance.
Thank you so much, England is a grand place for adventures. I believe they have as well.
Such lovely photos! I have sweet memories of Hill Top — a lamb had been born that day in a field next to the cottage and was just taking its first wobbly steps. I’m sure that Miss Potter would have enjoyed the scene as well.
Oh, that sounds like a lovely experience. She did so love her sheep.
Oh how beautiful! Your words and pictures are always so perfect! I visited Hill Top in July 2007 and it was one of my favorite places in England, so green gorgeous. This post has stirred all my fond memories. I want to return and look at it with a new perspective, thanks to this lovely post. <3
It is amazingly green isn’t it? I hope you can return some day, I long to go back as well.
:)

Hill Top is lovely. Very tidy though ;) Went there a few months ago and saw the rabbits by the hedge too, got photos as well :) The lakes are breathtakingly awesome to visit!
I like to imagine she kept a tidy house, but the National Trust are doing a wonderful job of caring for it. I’m so happy you saw the rabbit family too.
p.s. I saw Yew Tree farm also, magical spot.
Skye, I hope he found her. Every tiny story of yours wakes up sleeping things in me, I couldn’t thank you more for that; I could say I have a bench quite like that one. So memory-stained.
All my love,
Eliza
Eliza, your heart must be full of sleeping bunnies, like Benjamin, who’ve drunk a little cold tea and are dreaming of four leaf clovers. Benches are very important places. xxx
(I haven’t any idea why I wrote ‘Skye’ in the name-space of my comment, I was distracted thinking of you, probably. Excuse me, dear :) x.)
(not a worry, I’ve fixed it for you. x )
Lovely entry Skye ^^ <3 and the picture with the rabbit in it reminds me of when I saw a deer bound out onto the path far ahead of me while I was hiking one day with a friend for some reason, it was incredible! =D
That sounds magical Mika, I saw a lot of deer at Richmond Park but I have never seen them in the wild. You are so fortunate.
How lovely. I’m sure they are together now.
My favorite was always Jemima Puddleduck :)
I hope so. I can never choose a favourite, but Tom Kitten was the first I ever read.
Oh, Beatrix was so Brave. I imagine she tells him stories now, hand stroking her Benjamin Bunny as they lay by the fire.

That is such a beautiful image Elly, I shall always think of them just so. xxx
When I’m weary and my shoes are dusty, I come here for the solace that your pages provide.
You are always welcome to step inside my little diary, especially as you bring such lovely words as gifts. x
Don’t you worry at all, I have yet to finish one other thing, I am just waiting for one special thing from the woods so I can finally put it together, I do apologise for such unorganized mess! I promise I’ll send it to you as soon as everything is all put together finally.. x
Oh please don’t worry, I’m terribly unorganized too and I am fussy and want things to be just-so before I post them off. I’ll send mine soon as well. xxx
Oh, lovely Skye. You never, never fail to take my heart and hold it warmly in your words. I could stay here forever. It’s so wonderful, your world which you have created. I have seen many people try to copy your resplendent words, but none can. It would be the equivalent of attempting to copy a universe, star burnt and wasted as it is; you are beautiful, beautiful, don’t ever forget it, swan.

You are the kindest and the dearest Olivia, it is so good to have you back. Thank you, thank you for everything. You are a darling. xxx
I love this post, I adore your blog and everything about it.
<3
Thank you for your lovely comment <3
“Memories trapped in the woodgrain”… I am dazzled! I love this letter-style post, and the second photograph is my favourite. ♡
Do you like writing letters Nayeli? I do, but I’m terribly slow at it. I wish I could have a whole day for letter writing each week.
I enjoy it very much, whenever I could. They do require quite some thought and focus. Sunday would be my day of choice.
Oh. This makes me yearn for places I’ve never been and souls I’ve yet to meet (but so does every word you write). You are such a gem, I wish I could have all of your posts on paper and pull them out of my shelves when I’m cold. I don’t mean to sound silly, but I truly admire you for your spirit.

I’m so sure you will love Edinburgh, it is a dream city if ever there was one. Moving is always lonely though. If you like, I can write you a little something to read when you get there, with a gum leaf pressed inside. Let me know. xxx
Oh yes, Edinburgh is beautiful, incredibly so. That would make me very happy, I shall let you know once I have an address! xxx
I stumbled over this rather accidentally, and I only started reading this ”accident” because I saw you quoting The Last Unicorn, which is slightly unusual but interesting. I have my story for it, as do you I suppose.
I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but you remind of Alice. Alice in the Wonderland, of course.
Hello, The Last Unicorn is my bible, and I have met many for whom it plays a part in their own stories, I am pleased to meet another.
oh this is beautiful! love the pretty photos of the house. the house is gorgeous by itself, anyway! i’m blog hopping and i’ve come to know that there are so many talents out there, including yourself! you write really well, s.
It is a magical place. Thank you for your lovely comment Sarah.
You are just magical, this little world you have created is lovely. You are just so very talented and inspiring.
You are far too sweet, you’ll give me a toothache. Thank you, truly.
This is wonderful, I cannot even begin to describe. It is such a beautiful little corner you have here.
Thank you so much for your comment, unfortunately my beautiful kitty went to the Peaceful place today, I have been dreading it for days, but she was so peaceful when it was being done, and I’m ever so proud of her. She’ll always have a big piece of my heart.
Lots of love. xx
Oh, dove, all my condolences and thoughts are with you. I am sure she is at peace now. Much love. xxx
Rabbits are nice things.
Aren’t they just?
I love your photos! Nice shots!
