I am sitting in shadows and eating chocolate biscuits because it is too bright outside. The sun singes the leaves and makes the pavement hot to run on. Patch and I watch L’Ecole and I tie ribbons in my hair. My christmas tree has white leaves with gossamer film. It doesn’t snow here, it never snows, but I can pretend.

p.s. I made a little film for you, because I couldn’t just photograph it. The music box is from Claire.

Such a sweet video, a music box like that would make a perfect Christmas present. (And I’m a little in love with your blouse)
Oh to think that you are sitting in sunshine now!

P.S.: Don’t miss the snow – we have a foot, but it will all be gone by Christmas, so it doesn’t count.

Oh, thank you. It was a perfect birthday present actually!

We have far too much sunshine though, I’d happily exchange some for even a sprinkling of snow.

  2. Love the music box.
& It never snows here either. I wish it would.
    xx

It is my favourite ballet too, the music is so hauntingly beautiful. What other ballets do you like? I also like Giselle and Coppelia.

It’s very delicate, I’m always afraid of bumping it and breaking the swan’s fragile throat.

      Thank you, I’m honoured.

I love the music box. Swan Lake has always been one of my favorites, right behind Sleeping Beauty. :D I wish we could have some snow too, even if only a little.

    • Skylark said:

I have never been able to see Sleeping Beauty at the ballet, they just don’t seem to have it here.. although the dances sound so pretty.

Do you ever get snow? We don’t, it’s never that cold here.

  15. Oh, that is the most beautiful tune, I had to replay it several times it was that lovely to hear. How precious. x

hello again, it’s been a while since i’ve commented here..
just wanted to ask, where was this shot? in your room or your friend’s room?
also, is that a blouse or a nightgown? random random questions.
    xxxxxxx

Oh, i’ve forgotten- how did you like L’ecole? Do you know if I can find it anywhere online? I’ve been dying to watch it for eternities…Was it as nice as it looks?
sorry, now i’ve asked too many random questions. don’t answer them at all if you don’t feel like it.

Welcome back Rosebud. I have missed your comments. This was shot in my room at my new house and that is a nightgown I’m wearing.

I liked L’ecole very much, I rented a copy from the library which has lots of French movies. I think many people would misunderstand it though, it was beautiful.
